Step 1 - Open photo and display Script toolbar |
If it isn't already open, open the photo you wish to modify. Also, make sure the Script toolbar is displayed. Note that the script you'll run in this Quick Guide requires minimum image dimesions of 200 x 200 pixels, and that you'll be asked to merge (flatten) layers if they exist. |
Step 2 - Apply the SimpleCaption script |
From the Script toolbar, select and then run the SimpleCaption script -- it's located in Paint Shop Pro's Scripts-Restricted folder. You can choose this script from the Select Script drop-down if your File Locations are set to look in this folder. |
Step 3 - Enter caption text |
In the Enter Image Caption dialog that appears, enter the text for your caption. You can enter up to 40 characters, including spaces. The text size is relative to the image size. |
Step 4 - Click OK |
Click OK to close the dialog, apply the caption, drop shadow, and an interesting textured background. |

Notes and Tips: |
The SimpleCaption script can come in handy if, for example, you need to add captions to photos for a presentation. This is one of many fun and useful scripts that come with Paint Shop Pro 8. |
After the script is applied, notice the additions to the Layer palette. Be aware that you can modify the text by selecting it via the Layer palette. |
